CORY McCAULEY

Following on in the great concert-dance comes a lively quartet from Louisiana : Evangeline Aces, devoted to traditional Cajun music.
Cory McCauley took up the melodeon as a teenager. He received little encouragement from his family, but found a master in Hadley Fontenot (violinist with the mythical Balfa Brothers), who taught him perseverance, rigour and gave him deep insight into the repertoire.
In fourteen years he has learned to master his small accordion, and continues to go against the tide of modern trends.

Indeed, at a time when everyone is playing Cajun rock or Cajun country or zydeco, often sung in English, he specialises in early Cajun music, in French.
Today at Saint-Chartier he is accompanied by his wife Lisa, guitar and vocals, Jason Frey , violin and vocals, and Mike Rougeau on the shindy.
This performance by Evangeline Aces promises to be very lively, calling for plenty of energy.

" Let the good times roll " as they say in Louisiana !
