Strange name for a quartet, you will say. 'Albert & Joseph' is a veiled reference to Jean Blanchard, who composed a bourrée of that name for the " Grande Bande de cornemuses ". |
But the roles are never cast in advance. In turn, each takes the part of soloist or accompanist, improviser or leader. |
