Finesse and rhythm are what you can expect from Pietro Ricci. With Archè he takes a new look at traditional Italian music, with his favourite bagpipe, the Italian zampogna, as solo instrument.
With the zampogna and the piffero (shawm), the accordion and percussion, Archè gives an exciting and lively performance of this deeply-rooted traditional music. The harmony they achieve is quite amazing.

Pietro Ricci is an instrument maker as well as a very gifted musician. He has played an important part in the revival of the traditional Italian bagpipe, or zampogna. Thanks to him, we are able to enjoy its rich and full sound.
Pietro Ricci has managed to make this ancient instrument, with its rather rustic sound, into a modern instrument capable of tackling modern music.
