Finesse and rhythm are the main features of Riccardo Tesi's style. For the past twenty years, this Italian musician, born in Pistoia, in the heart of Tuscany, has appeared everywhere with fellow musicians from all walks of music and from every country : jazzmen, popular singers, other accordionists, traditional musicians... Tesi has always enjoyed confronting his art with that of other musicians. But he always returns to Italian music and its history... With Banditaliana, he revisits the Liscio, and particularly the Filuzziano dance, which used to be held in Bologna.

The Liscio was a popular dance with an accordion band - every Italian can hum you a tune from it. Riccardo Tesi aims to revive the whole of this rich and original accordion repertoire, none of which has ever been written down, but which has been preserved on a number of old recordings. Ten years ago Tesi appeared on the main stage at Saint - Chartier with Patrick Vaillant, the well - known musician from Nice. Now, with Banditaliana, he returns to his roots. With his very personal artistic approach, he makes music of the past into music of today.
