The recently-formed ensemble " Bokros " is the result of an old dream: to keep the hurdy-gurdy and the bagpipe alive in traditional Hungarian music and seek out new paths for these instruments to explore. " Walter ", said Bishop St Gellert, " do you hear the sound of the Hungarian symphony ? " And they both laughed at the light-hearted song sung by a servant girl. The " symphony " mentioned by the Bishop is one of the names of the hurdy-gurdy.

The ensemble takes us from the world of Byzantine chant to traditional songs, not forgetting the ritual regös or dawn serenades, which were performed for the New Year and some of which are extremely old. The drones of the hurdy-gurdy and the bagpipe accompany all these colourful delights...
